Blue Christmas?

Will the holidays end up being blue for real estate? In the fall there were some signs that holiday real estate sales might see some nice growth. However, initial numbers indicate that new home sales took a sharp drop in November. Things may rebound in December but that is doubtful considering historic trends for December real estate sales. Still there are indicators that say the real estate market could be setting itself for a nice rebound in 2010 and beyond, but these recent numbers won't help that theory.

Earlier in the month I shared that things looked good for holiday sales, but that was before the November numbers were released. Now we all must wait for the new year and hope that it brings a fresh optimism for the market.

Will it be a merry Christmas for the real estate market?

There is continued optimism that holiday real estate sales will show growth in the market. Yet, construction on new homes is still lagging behind.

Here is an article from the Washington Post that explains where we have rebounded and where there is still work to be done.

Will 2010 be better for real estate?

These folks here seem to think so...
I do too. 2009 wasn't too bad for real estate in western
Kentucky, but it certainly could improve.
Tax credits, improving banking conditions and good
inventory are signs that 2010 will be better.

Welcome to the big show...

Hello all, I am happy to introduce Western Kentucky Real Estate News today. I started my career in real estate just about a year ago now. I brought nearly ten years of sales and banking experience and a sincere passion for the real estate business. After being laid off from a pharmaceutical company I seized the opportunity to achieve my real estate license and began working for Century 21 Service Real Estate in Paducah. Since then I have had the opportunity to work with a lot of talented Realtors and some really wonderful customers. I have helped people find their dream home while assisting others in the selling process.
I am hoping that here, at West Kentucky Real Estate News, that you will be able to find a place to gather information about the housing market, consult with a licensed Realtor and connect with friends and family. Please tell your friends and family about our little blog here and let me know if I can help!
